An established collision repair facility in Bergen County, New Jersey is seeking an experienced, organized, and customer-focused **Collision Repair Estimator / Shop Foreman** to join our team.
This is a hands-on hybrid position for someone who can manage estimating, monitor daily shop production, communicate with customers and insurance companies, and make sure every potential customer opportunity is properly followed up.
Our shop volume is manageable, making this an ideal position for someone who enjoys being involved in both the **front office and production side of the business** and wants to take ownership of the repair process from the first customer contact through final vehicle delivery.
### Responsibilities
**Estimating & Repair Planning**
- Write accurate and complete collision repair estimates
- Use **CCC ONE** estimating software
- Inspect vehicles and identify visible and potential collision damage
- Prepare complete repair plans
- Review OEM repair procedures when necessary
- Photograph and properly document vehicle damage
- Prepare and submit supplements to insurance companies
- Communicate with insurance adjusters regarding estimates, supplements, and approvals
- Make sure necessary labor operations, parts, scans, procedures, and materials are properly included
- Monitor supplements and approvals to prevent unnecessary delays
**Shop & Production Management**
- Monitor the daily progress of vehicles throughout the repair process
- Coordinate with body technicians, prep technicians, painters, and parts personnel
- Make sure technicians have the parts and information needed to complete repairs efficiently
- Track vehicles through teardown, body repair, paint, assembly, detailing, and delivery
- Identify production delays and work to resolve them
- Maintain realistic completion and delivery dates
- Communicate with technicians regarding repair plans and additional damage
- Perform or coordinate quality-control inspections
- Make sure vehicles are properly completed, clean, and ready for customer delivery
**Customer Service & Follow-Up**
Excellent customer service and follow-up skills are essential for this position.
Responsibilities include:
- Greet and assist customers professionally
- Explain the collision repair and insurance process clearly
- Build trust with customers from the first conversation
- Provide regular repair-status updates
- Respond promptly to phone calls, emails, and customer inquiries
- Follow up with customers who received an estimate but have not yet scheduled repairs
- Follow up on missed calls, online inquiries, and potential new customers
- Track all potential customers so no opportunity is overlooked
- Contact customers regarding insurance approvals, scheduling, and repair authorizations
- Help convert estimates and inquiries into scheduled repair work
- Professionally handle difficult or frustrated customers
- Maintain a high level of customer service from initial estimate through final delivery

### Qualifications
- Previous collision repair estimating experience required
- Experience with **CCC ONE strongly preferred**
- Strong understanding of collision repair procedures and shop workflow
- Knowledge of insurance claims and supplement procedures
- Excellent customer-service and communication skills
- Comfortable speaking with customers and insurance adjusters
- Strong sales and follow-up skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to manage multiple vehicles and customer conversations simultaneously
- Ability to monitor and coordinate shop personnel
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Dependable, professional, and accountable
- Valid driver’s license
