Needing help finding assistance for lights (Greensboro)

I just need help with finding resources.
I called and couple of places about a month ago and was told that they run out of funds at the beginning of the month, but they also cant help with a bill until 5 days before disconnection.
It is ONLY the 6th and I called yesterday (MONDAY) and all of these places have messages saying they are currently out of funding, already. We are due for disconnection of our lights on Tuesday next week, if not paid by Monday. Im not familiar with resources in this area, as we moved from chapel hill/orange County. When we moved, Duke used the money for this new place and applied it to the old light account and it made me get behind, and I am also currently unemployed. My medicaid lapsed, so I cant call them for financial assistance, because I'm waiting for my approval. I have 2 small kids thar need electricity. I did apply for CIP with dss, but I have been waiting a month for them to reimburse my food stamps from power outage with the storm we had last month as well as an adjustment due to losing my employment.... so, they arent very helpful!
