**What you'll do**
- Perform ad-hoc visual source inspections at vendor and supplier facilities.
- Verify work against purchase order, drawing and code/spec requirements.
- Write and submit inspection reports, and handle release approvals for each visit.
**Requirements**
- BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Currently enrolled in a master's program.
- Your own laptop, and strong written reporting skills.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel anywhere in the Colorado Springs–Denver–Fort Collins corridor.
- Inspection or QA/QC experience and relevant certifications are a plus.
**Terms**
- This is a consulting engagement with a Wyoming contract firm, not employment.
- You sign a consulting agreement once, then receive a written work order for each assignment, covering scope, site, date and rate.
- Each work order is yours to accept or decline.
- Standard notice is two weeks before each assignment.
- **$425–$500 per day**, which includes the inspection, reporting and approvals.
- Rush premium of 10% on work orders with less than 7 business days' notice.
- Payment is on a 1099. You provide your own transportation and laptop.
- If an assignment ever needs tools, you'll receive a list with the work order. This is rare.
