10/19: Introduction to Frame Drumming (Great Neck)

Beginning Monday October 19th from 10:00am - 11:00am, I will be presenting a 9-week introductory course in frame drumming.
The weekly sessions are designed specifically for those with no prior drumming or musical experience who seek to initiate their hand drumming studies and learn about this instrument whose roots trace back nearly 5000 years.
Step-by-step guidance will introduce students to the basic strokes of playing the instrument, traditional rhythms from the world's many cultures and simple exercises to further develop their technical and musical vocabulary.

Additionally, an Open House is currently slated for Friday October 2nd from 10:00am - 11:00am where I will be on-site to greet prospective students and answer any questions you may have. The Open House is located at the Great Neck Community Education grounds - 30 Cumberland Ave., Great Neck, NY 11020
One final note: It is necessary for students to purchase their own frame drum prior to the start of the course. I'll be happy to provide recommendations in this regard.
