The buffet/sideboard/console looks stunning with its floral details, scroll motifs, classical swags, and parquetry panels, along with heavily carved pilasters and panel accents. There are heavy carved bun or paw feet with reeded/rope-twist trim. The original hardware has cast metal etched medallions with pull rings in an Old World aged finish. This buffet offers plenty of storage with 2 side cabinet doors with an internal shelf in each, 3 top pull-out drawers, and 2 larger center pull-out drawers (all with dovetailed corners). The top surface with cared raised back is great for holding serve ware, lamps, and home decor. The sideboard's dimensions are 67"L x 39"H x 21.5"D. .
The rectangular table measures 38"W x 31"H and a long 96"when fully extended with its 18" leaf extensions on each end (60"L with extensions underneath). The showstopper is its barely twist legs that are connected by a base with a scalloped fan center trestle. It has an H-stretcher system with "Dutch pull-out" refectory extensions on both ends. It uses a classic mechanical design where the self-storing leaves glide out horizontally from underneath the main tabletop, and they lift up for one level dining surface. A hidden metal locking mechanism underneath secures them into place.
The 6 matching chairs have all been professionally reupholstered and spring mechanisms repaired. The wood frames were in excellent condition and remain untouched. They feature the same barley twist legs as the table and intricate hand carvings on the top crest and frame. The seat and backs are padded for extra comfort and meticulously upholstered with double piping in a traditional cream color with thin reddish, olive green, and gold accent stripes. There are 5 armless side chairs and 1 "throne" chair with wooden arms and carved paw detail ends.
