This antique wooden artisan's/carpenter's workbench was repurposed as a rustic media console table to add character to the room while still highly functional holding a large screen TV along with storage areas below. This workbench looks great in industrial and farmhouse-style interiors to serve as a statement console table, sideboard, or as a kitchen island. Built from solid heavy hardwood, likely oak with its beautiful wood grains. The wood surface shows all the natural wear, dings, and a rich chestnut brown aged patina.
There are two traditional wooden face vises with large wooden screws for clamping woodworking projects. The tail vice on right side has metal interior edges to clamp down lumber during planing and hand-tool woodworking. Each vise works easily with the turn of its wooden handle that can also be removed. There are small square cut-outs along the front perimeter of the top slab which were used for placing board braces and woodworking tools in; they add such a cool geometric design flair to the piece.
Below the thick 3" top (detaches separately for easier transportation), the base has a 2-door cabinet on the left side that has matte black pull knobs and a wooden rotating door stopper, a pull-out center drawer with original metal etched handle, and 2 open shelves underneath. The shelves and exterior sides have detailed slat wood to further enhance the design from every angle. Hand hewn details and round pegs show the fine craftsmanship of its charming imperfections.
