This listing is for a hard-to-find primitive grape crusher. It could certainly be used for other items, but the side with the crank type handle is stenciled HOME GRAPE CRUSHER. The opposite side reads J.A. WILLIAMS & CO. 115-123 SEVENTH ST. PITTSBURGH, PA. One of the side panels is marked MFD. BY THE EAGLE MACHINE CO. LANCASTER, OHIO. The opposite side panel is unmarked.
It measures 25” wide on the feet and 11-5/8” high. The metal grinding cylinders are approx. 6” by 3-1/2” each. The handle operates the grinders smoothly. The construction is heavy duty, and it weighs a hefty 32 pounds. This piece was obviously used quite a bit and other than a quick wipe down with a wet rag I left it in its original condition. To be picky I will mention some small white paint splatters on the interior. Also there is flat spot about ¾” in diameter on the wooden handle where it meets the metal. I’m unsure if this was meant to be there for the handle to lay flat or if it is a small chip. Give this wonderful primitive piece a good home.
