Owner wants to stay involved, but slowly have new owner (or partner possible) take the business ahead. repeat work thru the year as well, as we do removals/installs of over 100 docks seasonally. New dock orders coming in weekly. Some have been built and delivered before snowfall started. Spring is crazy and this is the right time for someone to get involved and see what goes on as season approaches.
The business does over $550k yearly, and has done this consistently for over 6 years now. Recent move to a smaller shop, 4000 sq/ft from previous 9000sq/ft shop is going to save money as overhead is considerably reduced. 3 trucks, (2) F-350 diesels with X-cab and 8' beds, (1) F-350 utility body X-cab for all tools and hardware needed. All 3 are 4-Wheel drive for access to lake areas. Shop fully equipped for all work needing to be done. (1) 16' trailer for deliveries. We have this process down to a science and our crews know how to get things done. 28' work barge (stripped pontoon) stays on Glen Lake as that is our home operations base and we do a great deal of work there each year. (with trailer)
We do fixed leg docks, post driven, floaters, decks on homes, and other light construction. Once you are at a customer location there is always other work they may want done. Lakefront work is enjoyable as well as rewarding. If you do interior work like remodeling, that is also available to get. We like to be outside of the home, but the right person will see the opportunity to garner more work if qualified.
If you are a contractor type or hand on person that want to own a business that you can put your heart and soul into as the owner has done, this could be the right opportunity for you. Open to holding some paper on this. Discussions can be arranged. Significant down payment would be needed. (1/2 or so). This could be from bank loan or SBA loan or wherever you may have it.
