This unique piece is a mid-century vintage folk art painting on burlap depicting a traditional Southwestern village scene centered around a white stucco mission church. The artist used the heavily textured, coarse weave of the unprimed burlap canvas as a mid-tone backdrop, allowing the natural fibers to double as the dusty ground and overcast sky.

This was a one of a kind piece from Amarillo TX artist Benavidez.
