Pristine 1980 Maico MC440 is a highly collectible open-class motocross motorcycle from West Germany. This show-quality restoration features a 1980 motor rebuild that eliminated the traditional chain primary drive system for smaller, lighter engine cases. The engine produces 50 hp at 7,200 rpm and 36.2 ft-lb of torque at 6,200 rpm.
It has a completely rebuilt suspension and a re-powder-coated frame. The body and plastics are all new, featuring modified frame geometry paired with updated fuel tanks. This model represents the peak of the twin-shock era in dirt racing.
