We have changed the lamp over the dining room table; this is matte black or dark gray metal. It hangs about 4 1/2 ft. and is about 18 in. in diameter. It has tear-drop shaped candle light bulbs, but a dimmer switch should solve this. It worked fine and was good with the dinner on high. It is black metal and comes with small cream-colored lamp shades that are in good condition. (perhaps it could be hung without the lamp shades, giving it a different look).
