About The Firm
Modern Financial Planning is an advisory firm specializing in equity compensation & tax planning for tech professionals, along with full-service wealth management. While we work with folks in many stages, a large majority of our clients are working professionals, navigating the tech industry, and raising young families. Most of our clients enjoy meeting virtually from across the country.
We are currently a team of 2 Advisors, looking to add a client operations professional to help us manage our growing firm & opportunities, while helping us keep our commitments, high-touch communication, and extremely high standards our clients expect.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an organized, detail-obsessed operations associate to support our two advisors on the administrative and operational backbone of the firm. This is an internal support role: you’ll work directly with the advisors rather than clients, though client contact may grow over time as the relationship develops.
This is a 1099 contract position, approximately 20 hours per week, fully remote. We collaborate during a daily overlap window, with any remaining hours completed on your own schedule.
What You’ll Do
• Coordinate scheduling, meetings, and follow-up tasks across two advisors
• Open new investment accounts (Schwab), process & track transfers, manage ad-hoc updates, and see each project through completion
• Maintain and organize client files (Dropbox) and improve filing systems as needed across the team
• Keep our CRM (Wealthbox) and other systems accurate and up to date
• Prepare client communications, reports, and meeting materials
• Support compliance by maintaining accurate books and records and gathering required documentation
• Assist with ad-hoc projects in areas like tax-season support and marketing
What We’re Looking For
• 2+ years in client service, operations, or administrative roles, preferably in financial services, accounting, or legal
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Strong attention to detail and no tolerance for errors
• Coordinate and update advisors daily on open or pressing items
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Familiarity with Google Suite, Wealthbox, Schwab Advisor Services, and Dropbox a plus (or the ability to learn tools quickly)
• Comfort managing competing priorities & re-prioritizing urgent client matters
• College degree preferred, not required
Remote Environment
This role involves handling highly confidential client financial information, so it requires:
• A dedicated, private, distraction-free workspace where screens and calls are not visible or audible to others
• Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet, professional environment for calls
• Responsiveness and uninterrupted focus during our daily collaboration window (a defined window, typically late morning to early afternoon Central Time), with flexibility for the rest
Compensation
• $25-35 per hour depending on experience, plus the potential for periodic performance bonuses.
How to Apply
• Please e-mail us and include the following details:
• Attach your resumé (PDF)
• Provide 2-3 brief paragraphs on why you’d be a great fit for our team
• Title the e-mail “Operations role – [your last name] – MFP”
• Add in a fun fact about you that helps us remember you 😊
