K&A Medical Transportation, serving the community since 2008, is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to manage hiring, employee relations, discipline, and personnel documentation. We currently employ 49 staff members and are preparing to grow to 51 or more.
Responsibilities
• Recruit, screen, and interview applicants; coordinate hiring and onboarding.
• Address attendance and performance concerns with management.
• Prepare written warnings, performance improvement plans, and separation documentation.
• Handle employee concerns and conduct confidential workplace investigations.
• Maintain accurate personnel files and track driver credentials, training, and certification renewals.
• Administer leave requests and update policies, notices, and HR procedures as the company crosses applicable employee-count thresholds.
Qualifications
• At least 2 years of HR experience, preferably in California.
• Experience handling employee discipline and sensitive personnel matters.
• Demonstrated knowledge of California and federal employment laws for employers with 50 or more employees, including applicable headcount calculations, coverage dates, FMLA and CFRA leave administration, and Affordable Care Act benefits and reporting requirements.
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
