Emmerse Education Center is looking for a part-time Scratch Coding Instructor to teach elementary school students at our education center in Fresh Meadows, Queens.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children and can make coding fun, interactive, and easy to understand. This position is ideal for a college student, educator, coding instructor, or someone with Scratch/programming experience who enjoys teaching young learners.
Schedule
* Saturdays
* Afternoon hours

* In-person in Fresh Meadows, Queens
Responsibilities
* Teach Scratch coding to elementary school students
* Introduce basic coding concepts through age-appropriate projects and activities
* Guide students in creating animations, games, stories, and other Scratch projects
* Explain coding concepts in a simple and engaging way
* Help students troubleshoot their projects and develop problem-solving skills
* Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment
* Encourage creativity and independent thinking
Qualifications
* Familiar with Scratch (MIT Scratch) and basic programming concepts
* Comfortable teaching elementary-aged students
* Patient, responsible, energetic, and good at communicating with children
* Able to manage a small group classroom
* Prior teaching, tutoring, camp, or children’s program experience is preferred
* College students with strong Scratch/coding skills are welcome to apply
* Computer Science or Education background is a plus, but not required
