Hours: Approximately 25–30 hours per week
Schedule: Monday–Friday, starting at 6:00 PM until assigned work is completed. Weekend availability may be required.
Can be flexible with starting time.
About the Position
We are seeking a reliable, experienced, and detail-oriented Part-Time Floor Technician to join our professional floor care team. This position provides commercial floor maintenance and carpet cleaning services at multiple facilities throughout Okaloosa County.
The primary reporting area is Fort Walton Beach, with assignments that may include Destin, Navarre, Niceville, Crestview, DeFuniak Springs, and surrounding communities.
The ideal candidate understands proper floor care procedures, including when to strip and refinish floors versus machine scrub and recoat them, and can follow a scheduled maintenance program while maintaining high-quality standards.
All equipment, tools, cleaning supplies, and uniforms are provided. Paid training is available for qualified candidates with at least one year of commercial floor care experience.
Clean and maintain LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) and other hard-surface flooring.
Operate commercial floor care equipment, including auto scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, and carpet extractors.
Perform scheduled machine scrubbing, floor recoating, and routine maintenance.
Clean carpets using shampooing, hot water extraction, and bonnet cleaning methods.
Sweep, mop, and maintain floors throughout assigned facilities.
Maintain patient rooms, hallways, offices, and other designated areas according to company standards.
Follow established cleaning procedures and operate equipment safely.
Report equipment malfunctions and maintenance concerns to management.
Travel between assigned job sites as needed.
Qualifications
Authorized to work in the United States.
Able to pass a company-required background check.
Three years of commercial floor care experience preferred; candidates with at least one year of experience are encouraged to apply.
Experience with VCT and LVT flooring, stripping and waxing, machine scrubbing and recoating, and commercial carpet cleaning.
Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and complete assigned tasks on schedule.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
Dependable, punctual, safety-conscious, and committed to quality workmanship.
Paid training may be available for candidates with at least one year of relevant experience who are motivated to learn.
Transportation Requirements
A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided to employees who possess a valid Florida driver's license, maintain a good driving record, and meet the company's eligibility requirements for driving a company vehicle.
Travel between job sites throughout Okaloosa County is required.
