The TRAXXAS HOSS VXL is a 1/10 scale 4WD RC Monster Truck that is perfect for someone who wants to bash. Size is in-between the MAXX and STAMPEDE, but for all around fun, for the size, handling, agility, speed, and pure joy, it's a lot more fun to drive than either. It has a reinforced chassis and a Cush drive and center differential, and comes with a 540XL motor shared with the TRAXXAS MAXX that allows the Hoss to bunny hop and reach a top speed of 60+ MPH. The TRAXXAS HOSS also has a clipless body.
So, if you want the best all-around rc truck that's super tough, easy to upgrade or repair, and small enough to travel with (you won't need a large SUV or pick-up to haul it or a mile-square park to run it like the jumbo X-MAXX needs), you will not go wrong with this TRAXXAS HOSS...

NOTE: The 6400 4S battery can run the MAXX 4S or HOSS rc trucks. The right bigger battery equals faster truck, to a certain point, thoughtfully, Traxxas built-in a controller to adjust the power up/down on the controller itself (FYI: There's also a beginner-mode setting on the transmitter on the truck's power button, I believe, that can be set to keep the speed lower when just learning and for kids).
