This antique welder was from our ranch. My family bought the ranch in 1932 but electricity did not get installed until 1942. I assume it may have been used when the family bought it. Therefore, I assume it is from 1930-1940 time line. Serial # is TB827D, Made in the USA in Milwauke. Specs are MTW1-150. Range is 20 amps to 185 Amps. It is 32 1/2 tall, 18W, 15 deep. The rust on front has not broken through but just surface from sitting in a shop with concrete floor which can draw moisture.
I remember well my father using this on the ranch to repair mowing machines, hay baler, wagons and whatever needed welding. Made iron pipe gates etc. Through the depression and war years, they never threw anything away. There was a scrap pile one could go to and mend the broken. There is a full tube of rod plus a few other and a welding hat.
I understand there are people who would love to refurbish these older pieces and bring them back to life. Sounds like a good project.
The leads are all still intact and and hooked to it.
I will consider a reasonable offer for this piece. TIME TO GO!
