I'm looking for full-time farm work on the outskirts of Dayton, starting as a helper and looking for a long-term place to learn how a farm actually operates.
I'm based in Fairborn and willing to travel to farms in the surrounding area. I'm happy to start with the grunt work — feeding and watering, cleaning barns and stalls, fencing, mowing and brush work, hauling, stacking, building and equipment upkeep, and helping with planting and harvest — and learn from there.
What I bring:
- 20+ years of renovation, construction, and facility maintenance experience (10-year apprenticeship plus a decade as a professional handyman)
- Class A CDL, with experience coordinating and hauling heavy equipment loads, multi-truck pickups, and liftgate work
- Building and structure repair: carpentry, drywall, flooring, painting, doors and hardware, roofing and gutters, deck and patio work
- Property maintenance: basic plumbing and electrical, water-damage assessment, landscaping, and general fix-it work
- Can fix small problems before they become big ones; safe with hand and power tools
- Experience leading crews and supervising temporary labor
- Reliable, currently employed, and available to start with two weeks' notice
To be upfront about pay: I'm not expecting $75,000 walking in the door as a helper. What I'm looking for is a farm willing to teach me the operation — equipment, livestock and/or crops — where I can earn my way up as I take on more responsibility, with a real path toward $75,000 a year as a trained farm hand / operator. I'm looking for a long-term fit, not a seasonal stop.
No prior paid farm employment — I have a full farm-focused resume ready to send on request.
If you're a farm owner who needs a hardworking helper now and wouldn't mind training the right person up, I'd like to talk. Please reply through Craigslist. Serious inquiries only, please.
Principals only. Recruiters, please don't contact this poster.
