The Washington Post Health Section (June 8, 2026) says vibration training can be helpful those with limited mobility, poor balance or age-related muscle loss (sarcopenia). There is also evidence it can help improve bone mineral density in postmenopausal women and older adults because the vibrations trigger involuntary, high-frequency muscle contractions that may help improve strength and bone density without strenuous activity. It may enhance neuromuscular activations, which is how the brain and nervous system communicate with muscles, improving the balance and leg muscle strength needed for daily activities such as walking. Recent research also indicates vibration plates may help Type 2 diabetics by helping the body more efficiently improve glucose levels.
