I have 2 very nice Cuckoo clocks that I inherited. While I do not know exactly how old these clocks are, they had been in my parents' house since the late 1970's early 1980's. As I am not familiar with cuckoo clocks I reached out to local clock repair shops, and along with online research this is what I found out. They were made in Germany in the Black Forest region with the Black Forest Cert. Sticker of Authenticity. Both have the typical mechanical movements NOT battery operated. One clock is crafted by Hubert Herr, designed in a chalet romance style motif, the cuckoo bird sounds on the Hour and on the half hour. Movements include dancing marionettes just below the cuckoo bird along with a couple sharing a kiss. The other clock, crafted by D. Hones, is in a chalet beer garden style motif, the cuckoo bird sounds on the Hour and again on the half hour. Movements include rotating water wheel along with friends sharing a beer. Both clocks are 3 weight, 24hour clocks, both have an on/off lever to silence the cuckoo bird and pause the movements without affecting the time function. There is some paperwork that was with them when I inherited them, as seen in the pictures. They both function as should with no obvious damage. Price is $300 each or $500 for both, cash only. I priced these below what was paid for them so they would be a nice addition for a collector, a great gift, or for anyone just wanting an old style, functioning cuckoo clock. I am located in O'Fallon Mo. 63368 and will NOT ship. I would not want to take a chance damaging these during shipment. Thank you for looking.
