I have two really nice Softail Standards. One is 07, the other an 03. A friend’s brother died and she needed to move them from his place fast. I volunteered to let her keep them in my shop until she could sell them. After getting a look at them I could see they needed a little work before I’d feel comfortable listing them. Nothing major. They’d been kept under tarps outside and were pretty dusty and in need of thorough cleaning. Both needed fork seals. The 07 needed a new rear tire. I ended up just buying them just to help her move on.
I am a motorcycle guy, but not Harleys. You may need to ask some questions for more detail.
The 07 has 30k on the clock. It runs and rides fantastic. It’s got the new tire, new fork seals and bushings. I also has a BUNCH of shinny aftermarket goodies on it. I have it listed on Facebook for $6500.
Here’s where it gets interesting:
The 03 is a 100th anniversary edition. It has 40k on the clock. HOWEVER, I can’t say what the actual miles are because I know it has a bunch of S&S and Screaming Eagle hot rod stuff on it. It has the SE cam chain tensioner ($750), S&S cams ($?), and adjustable push rods. That’s the stuff I know for a fact because I took that all apart. It would start and run, but like crap. It felt like timing, so I took the cam cover off and it did appear to be off. I had to disassemble everything but the cylinders to fix that. According to a friend who is a Harley mechanic, it likely has the 95 cu" upgrade. He based that on the cams and the fact that along with the bikes I got a box that had the stock crank in a box from S&S, the stock heads, cylinders, bearings, and cams. (You can have all that stuff too). After getting it back together, it ran (runs) great…on the front cylinder only. I installed a new crank position sensor, and verified the rear cylinder has spark. Why it’s not firing, I have no idea, and I don’t want to spend any more time figuring it out. That’s why I’m bundling it with the 07 for a paltry $2,000. Check the pictures (the blue one) and you’ll see that in addition to the very expensive internals, it’s got some sweet goodies as well. The billet wheels, rear pulley, front and rear brake disk mounts alone are easily worth North of $3,000. Then there’s the V & H exhaust, custom bars, risers, and levers, misc skull goodies, new lowering shocks (not installed), and I don’t even know what else.
Both bikes are really great looking machines and not junk. They have clean titles and current registration. I just want to get my money out of them and move on to other projects. I can only list one bike but THIS PRICE IS FOR BOTH!
If you’re in the market for a Harley, you’ll hate yourself if you don’t jump on this.
TRADES: full or part with no cash on my end. Not sure what I’d consider trading for. NO PROJECTS!!!! I would definitely consider a clean, quality, upper end adventure touring bike. Maybe like a Ducati Multistrada, Aprilia Tuareg, BMW FG, KTM Adventure, ??? Perhaps metal fabrication tools or machines. No hand tools. I’ve got plenty of those.
I’m also selling my really nice 87 El Camino. I’ll include the link to that as well. For the right thing. Perhaps a newer or older truck that is mechanically sound enough do drive cross country, but that I won’t freak out about if I get a scratch or two? A very top notch adventure touring bike?
