The Contractor Series CS-650-RSM summed-mono in-ceiling loudspeaker features one dual voice coil woofer and two 1/2-inch tweeters which accept both left and right stereo signals for applications where there's only enough room for one speaker.
Taking full advantage of recent advancements in materials technology the CS-650-RSM incorporates polymer cones for improved performance and reliability and rubber surrounds for added durability. The larger magnets increase efficiency and sensitivity and the powder-coated aluminum grilles will never rust.A summed-mono variant of the CS-650-R, the CS-650-RSM allows "single-speaker stereo" operation at modest cost and with very good sound quality. It is ideally suited to distributed-music and other low-visualimpact applications in which some individual speakers must be fed from two-channel sources. A typical installation would be one in which some rooms (bedrooms, for example) could accommodate true twospeaker stereo while others, such as hallways and large common rooms, could not. In the latter, a more natural sound is usually achieved when every speaker delivers the same output. The direct-radiating CS-650-RSM takes full advantage of the latest materials technology to come as close as possible to the sound and performance of our horn models, allowing easy mixing of the two types. Its 6.5-inch polymer-cone woofer has a durable rubber surround and a large motor structure for high sensitivity and strong bass output. Dual voice coils sum the low frequencies from a stereo input to mono. Upper frequencies are handled individually for the two channels by a coaxially mounted dual-tweeter array, preserving stereo effect. The two 1-inch polymer-dome drivers are liquid-cooled for maximum power handling and reliability. The CS-650-RSM’s rugged ABS frame ensures long, trouble-free operation. And the speaker’s 8-ohm impedance is compatible with all amplifiers.
