SUPPORT I CAN PROVIDE:
One-on-one support—personalized help tailored to the individual
Play and recreation—structured games and activities
Communication and social skills—practicing how to talk with and relate to others
Emotional support—Help managing feelings and staying calm
Community outings—Trips and activities out in the community
School/homework help – Support with schoolwork and assignments
Life skills—Building independence for daily living
Routines and transitions—Help adjusting to changes and daily schedules
Respite/family support—giving families a break and extra support
Following care plans—carrying out strategies set by parents, therapists, or other professionals
THE ROLE I’M SEEKING: A consistent position where I can build a trusted relationship with a child or youth and work collaboratively with the family, school and professional team. I am particularly interested in autism support, special-needs support, behaviour intervention, education support, community inclusion and life-skills development.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master's in Inclusive Education, Independent School Teaching Certificate (TRB), 3 years working with children (K-12), First Aid & Community Care Qualified, English, Sinhala, and Italian, experience with AAC/non-speaking children, experience with challenging behavior, and Responsible Adult Certificate. References and a criminal record/vulnerable-sector check can be provided as appropriate.
AVAILABILITY: Vancouver and Lower Mainland. Full-time availability. Open for part-time
