A bit about me and my current situation. Since being laid off from my position at Good to Go! tolling in the QA/email department in 2021 I have unfortunately been going from part-time and/or temp positions. Jobs like Regal theaters were simply part time ones to pay the rent. The cash office position at the Zoo was a 6 month temp contract that lasted for 13 months that I had hoped would turn in to a full time position, but the position was eventually eliminated and I was laid off at the point they said I was likely to be when the position went from 6 months to a year. The MoxieWorks position was looking to be a temp one where you’d be hired on full time, but they instead chose to go with overseas remote staffing that worked far cheaper.
Spending this long between permanent positions was never my intention, but I’ve had to take what was available to keep myself afloat. I’ve recently taken another part time and temporary(it only lasts through early November) retail position to get back in the workforce, but they are fully aware I’m seeking a more long term position while working for them and are encouraging me to do so. I am open to another part time position to supplement this one, but I am really hoping to break this cycle of part time and temporary work and want to really plant myself down with a position I can make in to something.
I reside in the Seattle and do look to work in that vicinity. Ideally anything that is easily accessible via the Light Rail. Commute is an underrated perk. I’m not opposed to weekends or evenings, but ideally I am looking for a more standard 9-5 position. And while I’m currently working in retail, my experience is more in an office environment. I don’t feel above that work by any means, but my qualifications and experience are beyond that level at this point of my career for anything long term.
