This exceptional, and beautifully designed, oriental rug, is a Semi-Antique, KASHMAR. It features a richly sophisticated, design, with an impressive central medallion, characteristic of the KASHMAR style. This rug was hand-knotted in Turkey, in the 1960's; and it is truly a beautiful rug.
We selected this rug to stage one of our beautiful lake homes, because it has high visual impact. And the house has now sold, which is why it is available. (We take the rugs back after the staged house sells, and sell them for a portion of their cost so we can charge less in the staging fee.
This KASHMAR is a hand-knotted rug, made of 100% lambswool, with about 140 knots per square inch, (140 KPSI), considered to be very good weave quality. The exact size is 12.9x9.7 (so almost 13x10, in size). It is in excellent condition with no wear spots and a soft and intact pile. This rug features a rich raspberry red field, with dual bar and triangle accents of navy and ice blue in each corner of the field. The large marquis shaped, central medallion is especially impressive in the design of this rug, featuring a navy orb at each end of the central medallion extended by about a foot away from the main medallion, which is outlined in navy and centered in ice blue.
This is a spectacular rug, in excellent (virtually perfect) condition, that will enhance your home with its substantial richness. This rug was made using yarn that was colored using vegetable dyes (important because vegetable-dyed colors are richer in appearance: (deeper in subtle colors --- less flat looking), than chemical-dyed woolen yarns, as well as environmentally safer).
We selected this rug for staging, because of its visually striking design. That is why it will be impressive anywhere you use it, including in a family room, a living room, an office, a kitchen, a media room, etc. At retail this rug would be priced about $6000-$6500; But, here it is JUST $1375.
