Solid antique steamer trunk, roughly 1910–1930. Black metal panels over textured canvas, with hardwood slats, brass-finish corner caps and two leather end handles.
Latches stamped Corbin (New Britain, CT hardware maker)
Center lock hasp and two draw-bolt side latches
Original embossed floral paper lining
Original lift-out tray with divider, plus the period “Trays are built purposely light…” label
Wood slats in good shape
Please note: the lid hinges don’t work and will need to be repaired or replaced. Priced to reflect that. Replacement trunk hinges are easy to find online.
Other wear is normal for its age: scuffs and scratches on the black metal, and a few small tears and worn spots in the lining. No key. Great as a coffee table, end-of-bed storage or decor piece. Sold as is.
