Body:
Antique Brunswick treadle sewing machine, sold by Montgomery Ward around the early 1900s and made by the National Sewing Machine Co.
Quarter-sawn oak drop-head cabinet with carved drawer fronts: 3 drawers on each side plus a center drawer
Machine head folds down into the cabinet, and the top closes to make a flat table
Original black finish with gold decals, still in nice shape
Cast iron treadle base with the original leather belt
Includes the original attachments tin and a box of presser feet and attachments
Drawers also hold vintage notions: needles, thread, wooden spools and more
Mechanism works: needle moves smoothly when you turn the handwheel. Treadle belt needs replacing (inexpensive and easy; replacement belts are about $10 online or at sewing shops)
It’s heavy, so bring a helper and a vehicle that can fit a desk-sized piece. The head can be removed for transport if needed.
