For sale is a gorgeous, incredibly sturdy vintage Chinese Kang table (historically a low platform table used as a daybed or opium table) repurposed as a stunning, statement-making coffee table.
This is an estate-quality, benchmade import piece from the late 20th century. It is built to last a lifetime, weighing a substantial 60 pounds. It features a vast, meticulously hand-woven rattan/caning center inlay framed by thick, solid Elmwood (Yumu) boasting prominent, deep natural "cathedral" grain patterns.
Unlike modern factory-made furniture, this piece is assembled using traditional mortise-and-tenon (interlocking) joinery and features authentic vertical pillar struts along the side aprons. It is incredibly dense, stable, and solid as a rock.
• Dimensions: 50.5" Long x 32" Wide x 18" High (4 ft 2.5 in x 2 ft 8 in)
• Weight: Approx. 60 lbs
• Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The woven rattan top is exceptionally clean and tight. The frame is completely solid with no wobbles. Pre-applied heavy felt pads on the feet protect your hardwood floors.
• Design Styles: A perfect centerpiece for Organic Modern, Japandi, Boho, Eclectic, or Mid-Century interiors.
