- most hardware components (drives, controllers, fan modules, power supplies) are hot swappable. The internal backplane is not.
- final release firmware is installed (03.9F) on the interface modules (EMMs)
- the interface modules (EMMs) do have Ethernet connections. They are configured for DHCP. Using them is strictly optional. No Ethernet is required to put this to use.
- 208/220/240 Volt power is required. Normal US household 110/120 Volt power will not do the job. C20 input connectors. Power cables included if requested.
- Physically larger than most servers. This will require extra depth in your rack. 33 inches deep
- This is a JBOD (just a bunch of disks) device. A server connected to it will see 60 individual storage drives (if installed) and the enclosure itself. There is no hardware RAID.
You will need to supply 2.5inch/SFF SAS or SATA SSDs or spinning hard drives. Zero or more, any quantity is fine. And power. And probably SAS ports for your server, too. I have some SAS adapter cards being listed here today as well. Bundled SAS HBA and JBOD is an option.
$600 each. Located in Greeley. We could work out delivery between Castle Rock and Cheyenne for a reasonable fee. Or meet in Greeley and see it work before exchanging cash for computer hardware.
