One-on-one personal training in a 100% PRIVATE GYM (so there are never other people watching or judging you while you work out!)
Certified Personal Trainer and former NCAA track athlete (where i was coached by an Olympic gold medalist) with 25+ years experience working with many different types of clients with many different needs. I have worked with competitive athletes as well as people with all kinds of health issues and I believe everybody has an athlete inside them and it is my passion to bring that inner athlete to the surface in a safe and fun way.
I specialize in helping my clients get past old injuries to reach their fitness goals, whether it’s chronic back pain, joint pain and even post-concussion rehabilitation. Often people struggle working out on their own because of old injuries, or they get new injuries while working out that prevent them from pushing themselves hard enough to get results.
My guiding focus is to rehabilitate old injuries and get the bad pain out of the way in order to push the body to new levels previously unattainable. This is a two-way learning process as you discover how to listen to your body and communicate while I learn what works for your body. Together, this is how we prevent new injuries that inhibit progress. This is such an underestimated part of working out, yet everything depends on this.
My holistic approach to health, fitness and weight loss encompasses nutrition and lifestyle, along with our workouts. I will teach you how to use nutrition to regulate your metabolism so that your body burns the food you eat rather than storing it as fat. In the gym we will maximize the efficiency of the time spent in the gym to produce the best possible results for you. Working out in a private environment means no wasting time waiting in lines for equipment, CLEAN equipment and there are no distractions (or the intimidating feelings of other people watching you work out) so we can get through the exercises quickly and concentrate entirely on reaching your goals.
Here are what some of my clients have to say:
“ When I started with Seth as a trainer, I expected to feel at least some level of that intimidating vibe someone like me can feel when stepping into your average large fitness center. I was an overweight, out of shape woman in my late 50s who had never maintained any consistent fitness activities, but the vibe at Seth's efficient private gym setup has been supportive in every respect from day one. I began my fitness path early in the pandemic, nearly 5 years ago, and Seth had just the right balance of pragmatism and encouragement to keep me focused on becoming healthier and stronger. Over those years, I've lost weight, gained muscle and have more stamina than I recall having even when decades younger. Seth also has a great deal of knowledge of body mechanics and recovery processes and has helped me recover from numerous injuries and strains so I could stay on track to feeling my best. I highly recommend Seth and his flexible approach to fitness and strengthening the body.”

“At 68 years of age I took the giant step of starting physical training with Seth. I had never exercised before or played organized sports. Not a gym person. Along with a number of painful traumatic injuries I had a chronic arthritis condition for 30 years which had left me with a body of sore, inflamed joints and connective tissue and underdeveloped muscles, all limiting what I was able to do physically. A big negative for my quality of life.
After our first few sessions Seth had me figured out and understood how to proceed. In retrospect I think Seth saw me as a personal challenge. It wasn’t easy at first, but exercising 3 times a week was quickly beneficial to my mental and emotional health and general happiness. Soon I was looking forward to my workouts.
Preventing injury and further damage to my joints was paramount to Seth; each session began with an accounting of where I am sore, and is it more sore than normal? Over time we determined which exercises were good for my body, my specific injuries, and which exercises to avoid. I learned to appreciate that intentional approach to exercise. I never felt like he was winging it; he had a goal for me, and a plan. Seth worked methodically to decrease my pain, while increasing my strength and stamina. Today, at the age of 76, 90% of my joints are pretty much pain free, I’m stronger than I have ever been and I’m continuing to get stronger. Not much more to say except - Thank You Seth!”
