We’re a close-knit, inclusive, multi-generational community that values home and connection. If you’re looking for a place to participate, make things, organize, share ideas, create, sing, bake, garden, learn, and care for the people around you, our community may be a good fit.
Our lovely home has ten bedrooms, six bathrooms, and plenty of shared and private indoor and outdoor space. The front and back yards include a vegetable garden, hens, a beehive, herbs, and dozens of fruit trees.
We’re looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills who wants to live a low-impact lifestyle, can reliably take care of household chores, and will contribute to a caring home. We're seeking a housemate who can commit to at least a year, preferably two years or more.
We take turns preparing healthy vegetarian dinners, usually five nights a week. Dinner is an important time for nourishment and connection. We buy organic food, recycle and compost, and often walk or bike to get around. On a typical day, you might find people chatting in the kitchen, reading quietly in the living room, or working in their rooms.
Our home is on a quiet street, a couple of blocks from Sundance, six blocks from the university, one block from a bus stop, and three blocks from the Y. Some of us share a Y membership. The house is bright, clean, and colorful, with a hot tub, sauna, furnished guest room, fireplace, well-stocked kitchen, workshop and tools, deck, cob pizza oven, and more.
Rent: $595. Part of the rent supports local nonprofits serving unhoused people.
Deposit: $900. There’s no need to pay first and last month’s rent upfront.
Utilities: $95 per month. This covers electricity, water, sewage, stormwater, heat, garbage, gas, and internet. Solar panels provide nearly all of our electricity.
Groceries: $247–$305 on a sliding scale. We buy groceries together to save time, money, and resources. We also gather fruit and vegetables from the garden, enjoy eggs from our hens, and sometimes have honey from the bees. We’re also a drop site for three organic farm CSAs. Some residents eat meat, but our shared household is vegetarian. We don’t purchase meat with group funds and don't prepare cook meat in the house.
Household items: $40 per month. This covers things like cleaning supplies, toilet paper, laundry detergent, canning jars, and many other essentials you’d otherwise need to buy on your own.
Pets: We have one cat and can’t currently accommodate other pets. If you have a pet and would like to live with us, get in touch; we’ll let you know if we’re able to welcome additional pets in the future.
If you’re interested in communal living, tell us a little about yourself. We try to respond quickly, though we sometimes receive more messages than we can manage right away. We want to make sure the arrangement works well for everyone, so the process of finding a housemate takes at least two weeks and often longer.
