2. Native American tribe in Southern Oregon, Modoc, Klamath. This is very large lava rock grain grindstone split in half during the Modoc War. US troops split grindstones to decrease native food supplies.
A real but not a pretty part of American History.
I bought from an anthropologist working and living in south western Oregon near the lava beds in the 70’s. He reported finding it on his own land. Sale $75.00 because I can no longer move it. Large stone metate or grinder for corn not from same area is included. The metate is from the Columbia Gorge area.
You must come see and move on your own. I have a handcart you can use to get them to your vehicle. I cannot help move them.
