A passive preamp goes between your components (CD player, phono preamp, etc.) and your power amplifier. If your power amplifier has good input sensitivity and plenty of gain, this preamp removes the circuitry and thus the noise of a powered preamp. The stepped attenuators used in Goldpoint passive preamps are more transparent-sounding than the typical potentiometers found in other preamps.
I purchased it directly from the manufacturer in 2017. I used it for less than a year. We moved from a house to a condo and I could not set up my audiophile system in the condo. The unit has been well-stored and is in excellent condition
