I specialize in tutoring students who are registered in electrical apprenticeship program at BCIT or other colleges. I have exceptional understanding of year 1-4 subjects including math, A/C or D/C circuits, 3 phase circuits, transformers, DC/AC motors, motor controls, electronics, alarm controls, PLCs, and The Canadian Electric Code.
My vision/aim:
To create a positive, self-paced, learning environment where students will be able to feel more confident and better understand concepts within the subjects mentioned above. I am very passionate about helping students become successful in their field of choice.
What I can offer you:
I offer private tutoring in my quiet office where we can work through assignments, prepare for tests/exams, as well as offer you hands-on experience.
My office allows you to have access to test equipment, which will allow you to engage in hands-on measurements of continuity, voltage (pp, rms, average), power, power factor, frequency, current, inductance, coil quality factor, etc. You will be able to test switches, resistors, capacitors, diodes, LEDs, bridge rectifiers, coils, transformers, relays, contractors, ORLs, transistors. In addition, you will be able to wire, test, and troubleshoot motor control starters.
I can also help you prepare to challenge the electrical Red Seal IP TQ or write the FSR tests. I am allowed to sign the "ITA proof of upgrading form" for challenging the RedSeal test and I can issue the Canadian Electrical Code Certificate required by BC Safety Authorithy for writing the FSR tests.
About me:
I have over 25 years of experience in the field as a construction/industrial journeyman electrician, BC Master Electrican , FSR B, electrical contractor, engineer and electrical instructor. I am a certified CEC instructor through B.C Technical Safety.
I have excellent feedback from all my students, often passing their tests with over 85% grades.
