We are seeking a qualified, responsible, dependable, and motivated individual who maintains a positive attitude and is willing to follow instructions, complete assigned duties, and comply with the hospital’s established policies, procedures, and standards. The selected candidate must be prepared to fulfill the responsibilities and expectations of the Veterinary Assistant position.
The Veterinary Assistant serves as a primary point of contact for clients and plays an essential role in supporting patient care and daily hospital operations. Responsibilities include providing professional customer service, assisting with animal handling and restraint, managing client and patient flow, scheduling appointments, responding to inquiries, communicating accurately, and maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary hospital environment.
Applicants must be prepared to work efficiently in a fast-paced veterinary setting, follow all safety and infection-control protocols, communicate professionally, and collaborate effectively with clients and team members. Key Responsibilities:
Greet clients, check in/out, and manage patient flow.
Assist with safe pet handling and basic patient care under veterinary supervision.
Maintain cleanliness of the hospital, restock supplies.
Accurately document information and follow hospital policies and safety protocols.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Team player with a positive, professional attitude.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.m
Self-motivated; able to work independently and complete tasks efficiently.
Bilingual (Spanish/English).
Strong multitasking skills with attention to detail; friendly and courteous.
Punctual and dependable with reliable transportation.
Previous experience with animal handling/care preferred.
Genuine compassion for animals and commitment to their well-being.
