I'm looking for an old timer like myself that has driven the pinnacle of the historic 107 year run of the Oldsmobile brand, the luxurious and extremely comfortable and stylish Aurora. If you have ever owned or driven one of these wonderful cars and have been looking for another one with plenty of life in her left, then you know how difficult they have become to find. This ad is for you.
If you are really picky, you may want the 2nd generation Aurora with the famous LX5 V-6 aluminum “shortstar”engine and the luxury package which includes dual leather powered and heated seats and the rain sensing wipers. I happen to have one of these Auroras for sale, a gold metallic 2001 with under 78,000miles. There are a few minor, mostly cosmetic issues such as the broken center console hinge and stuck cup holder. The headliner has begun to sag in a few places. So it is not perfect, but mechanically it is as nice an example of these as you are likely to find anywhere.
I searched across the country for years for a replacement for my wife's '02 with lower miles, before I found this '01 in Arizona a couple years ago. This car has spent its life in AZ and has a clean Carfax, no accidents and absolutely no rust.
I believe the Aurora, in just a few more years will become as desirable a classic GM as the '57 Chevy is today. Here's why. In 1957 GM made 1,560,000 Chevys. In 2001-2003 GM made 71,722 Second gen Auroras. Only a small fraction of them had the LX5 motor. If you think you might be a good fit for this car, please give me a call. No texts please.
