This all-mahogany (Gaboon or Okoume) mini-jumbo was purchased from the original buyer. It has seen practically zero use! I put it on the bench and took all measurements and couldn’t find anything that needed adjusting. The workmanship, fit and finish are as good as anything on the market at any price.
These instruments go for $450 to $500 (new) plus tax on Reverb.com and that doesn’t include a case. Although not technically “new” because it has changed hands, I challenge anyone to find a nick, bump, scratch or other imperfection.
The action is at the very lowest extreme specified for an acoustic guitar. Even so, all notes play clear and clean everywhere on the fretboard with no rattles, buzzes, doubles or “wolf notes.” It plays like a new Martin. The acoustic sound is full and rich, especially for a mid-sized, mid-priced guitar.
The electronics work perfectly, including the built-in tuner with letter display. I even installed a new battery, although the one provided by Takamine was still strong. The amplified sound is clear and clean.
If you play it, you’ll see why Takamine is the brand preferred by Bruce Springsteen, Garth Brooks, and The Eagles, among many others.
The outfit includes a thickly padded soft case (too nice to call it a gig bag).
