"Lavender" is a mixed breed beef heifer born on March 30, 2026. She is a very nice, thick, well built heifer, and maybe weighs about 500lbs right now (we haven't actually weighed her). She was more or less halter trained, although we haven't done much with that for several weeks. She is very playful and friendly, sometimes too friendly (it was hard to get good photos of her because she just kept following me 😄)! She would be a very nice fair project and/or brood cow for someone.
Her sire was mostly Simmental, Belgian Blue, Charolais, and Club Calf (his great grandsire was "Dakota Gold"). Her mother is half Scottish Highland, with the rest also being mostly Simmental, Charolais, and Belgian Blue. Both of her parents were bred and raised on our farm, and her mother is still on site.
We are selling her, mainly because we just have too many cattle right now. Also, when we tried to put her in a pen in the barn, for some reason she just couldn't keep her footing on the concrete floor and kept slipping and doing the splits. She has no issues outside, and that was several weeks ago, so we're not sure if she'd do better now, but it would probably be best if she just stayed outside/on dirt floors (rubber mats/flooring would probably be fine as well). She also will definitely need electric fencing and/or very strong and secure gates/fencing. She has a habit of climbing up gates or fences with her front hooves like a goat, and she has already crushed and climbed over weaker fences while doing this.
We have other cattle that are available as well! For more information, call Joe (my dad) at (715)three five two-2657. It's a landline, so if no one answers, leave a message.
