About the project:
We are seeking talented, dedicated actors for CURSE BROKEN, an independently produced horror feature being filmed on beautiful Orcas Island, WA.
Set on a remote, deteriorating apple farm in the dead of winter, the story follows a reclusive farmer whose quiet, miserable existence is interrupted when a mysterious, badly injured stranger arrives seeking shelter. As a sinister group of religious followers closes in, the farmer finds himself caught in the middle of something far more terrifying than he could have imagined.
CURSE BROKEN is a slow-burn supernatural horror film with a heavy emphasis on atmosphere, suspense, practical effects and strong character performances.
Some roles involve horror makeup, blood effects, physical performance, and simulated violence. All effects and action will be staged and coordinated with top-tier safety.
ROLES AVAILABLE:
HARLAN - Male, 60s.
Harlan is a grizzled, weather-beaten farmer living in isolation. He's rough around the edges, emotionally guarded, and deeply haunted by his past. Beneath his exterior is a man carrying overwhelming grief and regret. As the film progresses, we see in him something unexpected, the ability to care. We are seeking a dramatic actor capable of conveying emotion through subtle expressions and physical performance.
JASPER - Male / Female, 20s-30s.
A mysterious young drifter who arrives at Harlan's farm in desperate condition. Jasper is frail, frightened, vulnerable, and strangely gentle. They carry a deep and unsettling secret. This role requires an actor capable of shifting between genuine vulnerability, quiet intensity, and frightening physical transformation!
ELI - Male, 50s-60s.
A calm, thoughtful, and deeply religious man who leads a small group searching for Jasper. He is soft-spoken and seemingly compassionate, but carries with him a terrible burden. He is conflicted between his faith, his conscience, and what he believes must be done to Jasper.
EDEN - Female, 30s-40s.
A cold, watchful, deeply committed member of the group. She is intelligent, intimidating, and increasingly desperate as the night progresses. Eden is a strong character role requiring emotional control and intensity.
SILAS - Male, 20s-30s.
Silas is a gaunt, fanatical young religious zealot. He is unpredictable, obsessive, and deeply disturbed. He believes his actions are justified by divine purpose. The Silas role requires an actor comfortable playing an intense and physically demanding antagonist who's faith has curdled into something terrifying.
