Hello,
I’m looking for a woodworking assistant to help with an upcoming art project. I’m planning a series of 3-dimensional wooden folk-art sculptures made from reclaimed wood, 2x4s, and other found materials. The sculptures will feature whimsical characters and objects.
The work involves:
Working from my design concepts
Cutting wood into various shapes and pieces
Assembling and constructing the sculptures
You should be comfortable working with wood and have experience using common power tools. You should be comfortable working with wood, be able to solve problems, and have experience using common power tools. An artistic/creative eye is a big plus!
I have a workshop equipped with basic power tools.
This is not traditional wood carving — the work is more about cutting, assembling, and creatively constructing 3D wooden artworks.
Pay starts at $14/hour and can be increased depending on skill level and experience.
