Part-Time Home Project Helper / General Labor — $25–30/hr
Looking for a reliable, hardworking person to help with a series of home projects in the Allentown / Lower Macungie area over the next 6–8 weeks.
This is primarily an extra set of capable hands working alongside the homeowner, not independent remodeling or contractor work.
Pay: $25–30/hr depending on experience and capability.
Current Work Dates
Friday, October 2 — available immediately
Possible first/trial shift. Work may include:
- Moving/removing a large storage rack
- Breaking down an old bookcase
- Dethatching the lawn
- Moving/loading bulky items
Tuesday, October 13 — full project day
- Assemble unfinished cabinets
- Cabinet door/drawer removal and labeling
- Degreasing, sanding and prep
- Moving basement contents
- Assemble/move storage racks
- Carry debris to dumpster
Friday, October 16 — afternoon
- Cabinet and kitchen painting prep
- Degreasing/sanding
- Masking and floor protection
- Setting up plastic containment
- Organizing/staging spray area
Tuesday, October 20 — full project day
- Basement organization and hauling
- Moving racks/totes
- Donation/dump loading
- Possible cabinet hardware and door reassembly
Tuesday, November 3 — approximately 8 AM–2 PM
- Help remove and move HVAC equipment
- Position new air handler
- Carry debris/materials
- Hold components during installation
- Material/tool running and cleanup
Tuesday, November 10 — full project day
- Help move an air handler into attic
- Ladder/material running
- Carrying and debris removal
- Hold ductwork/components during installation
- General installation assistance
There may be additional days in October and November if the arrangement works well.
What I'm Looking For
- Reliable and punctual
- Physically capable of lifting 50–75+ lb items with assistance
- Comfortable with basic hand and power tools
- Able to follow directions and then work independently on straightforward tasks
- Careful working inside a finished home
- Construction, handyman, moving, maintenance or similar experience is helpful but not required
Most tools and materials are provided. I will generally be working alongside you and handling technical work and project decisions.
This would be a particularly good fit for someone looking for recurring side work rather than a full-time position.
