Hey Duluth (and Twin Ports folks up in Superior, too) —
I'm Phil, and I've been helping people with their Macintosh computers since 1985 — long before "Genius Bar" was even a phrase. These days I do it all remotely, from wherever you are on the North Shore to downtown, so a Lake Superior gale rolling in doesn't have to mean waiting on an appointment across town.
What I help with:
• Any Macintosh running slow, freezing, or acting weird (Intel or Apple Silicon)
• Old Macintosh computers Apple says are "unsupported" — I still work on them
• macOS upgrades, even unsupported ones (OpenCore/OCLP)
• iPhone/iOS troubles
• Data recovery help (mail-in for drive failures or spills)
• Pre-purchase advice whether you're buying new or used
• Patient, no-jargon tutoring so you actually understand your machine
I go further than Apple will — if your Macintosh is too old for their help, it's not too old for mine. And I'll actually explain what's going on instead of just fixing it and sending you on your way.
Rates:
• $60/hr
• 2-hour block: $120
• 3-hour block: $180
• Custom arrangements available for bigger projects
Available by phone almost anytime, or drop me an email and I'll get back to you fast.
