Precision Flowline is seeking qualified 1099 Independent Contractors to support roadway drainage and ponding reconnaissance for municipal projects.
Contractors will travel throughout assigned areas to evaluate and document roadway drainage conditions such as standing water, curb and gutter flowlines, catch basins, drainage paths, intersections, curb ramps, and surrounding infrastructure.
This work requires someone who can look at a site, understand basic drainage conditions, and collect accurate technical information for further review.
Scope of Work
Conduct roadway and drainage reconnaissance in assigned project areas.
Identify and document persistent ponding and drainage-related conditions.
Evaluate nearby drainage infrastructure, roadway grades, curb lines, and potential drainage paths.
Collect accurate GPS/geospatial information and site observations.
Take clear photos showing ponding, drainage structures, and relevant surrounding conditions.
Categorize and document site conditions according to project guidelines.
Use mobile GIS, mapping, or field data collection tools.
Communicate unusual conditions, access issues, or other important field observations.
Complete accepted assignments accurately and within agreed project timelines.
Preferred Experience
A degree is not required, but relevant education or field experience is strongly preferred in areas such as:
Civil Engineering
GIS or Geography
Surveying
Construction Management
Stormwater or Drainage
Transportation or Public Works
DOT or municipal inspection
Utility or infrastructure field work
Experience with ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, GPS/GNSS, Google Earth, or similar mapping and field data tools is preferred.
Contractor Qualifications
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Smartphone or tablet with a quality camera and internet access.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow project requirements.
Ability to work independently and navigate municipal areas efficiently.
Good organization, time management, and communication.
Comfortable working outdoors and traveling throughout assigned project areas.
Availability for assignments that may need to be completed 12–48 hours after rainfall has ended.
Compensation & Structure
1099 Independent Contractor
$40 per hour
Mileage reimbursed at $0.505 per mile
Assignments vary based on project needs and rainfall conditions.
Contractors provide their own transportation and mobile device.
Contractors are responsible for their own tax obligations and independent contractor requirements.
Ideal Contractor
We are looking for someone with strong field awareness who can recognize what is happening at a site, identify relevant drainage and infrastructure conditions, and provide accurate information that supports further technical review.
Experience in GIS, surveying, infrastructure, public works, construction, transportation, drainage, or inspection is highly valued.
