The unit is very colorful and cheerful with bright lighting. It is well-insulated but with good ventilation from a multitude of screened windows. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you might need. A small, stacked W/D is available in the unit. There are excellent views of the ocean and mountains right from the unit, and a cozy outdoor space with a heat lamp and fireplace that is wonderful for enjoying the outdoors even in wet or cold conditions.
Treadwell historic trail adjoins the property and is a great place to go for a relaxed nature walk or play some disc golf. Sandy beach can be reached via Treadwell Trail in about 3 minutes and is the best beach around Juneau. This property affords a very unique experience where you feel surrounded by nature and the beautiful wilds Alaska yet are only 10-minute drive from downtown or the hospital district.
The driveway is a bit steep and can get icy in winter, so AWD /studded tires recommended to park adjacent to the unit during inclement weather. There is alternative semi-private street parking right above the house where the snow/ice is generally not a problem. Gas, groceries, restaurants, library, theater, and ice rink all within walking distance within 15 minutes or so.
There are stairs to the unit and trail, so not a good spot for those with mobility issues. Our family lives in the house next door.
