CMHA pays my current landlord about $783 so I would expect the same in Cleveland and more in the suburbs since they pay based on zip code outside of Cleveland. I'd like to find a place that is as close to that number as possible and that will take CMHA, that severely limits my options. I'm reaching out on Craigslist to hopefully find someone sympathetic to my situation.
Most CMHA properties including where I currently live are a nightmare. I've never had any drug or alcohol issues so living surrounded by people who do is unsettling on the best of days. I'm currently in a duplex where my neighbor is a crackhead and across the street there's squatters living in an abandoned house. I'm a former Coast Guardsman and about the furthest thing from a fentanyl addict so I'm tired of living surrounded by them.
My ideal place would be a small house sharing no walls with other people. No duplexes (at least no up/down duplexes) and no apartments. I don't need it to be big or fancy, just provitde a little bit of isolation.
Washer and dryer hook-up would be nice as I do own appliances, but right place and right price I can do without.
I am quiet, I have no pets, I don't smoke cigarettes, I don't throw parties and I don't need anything fancy. I just need some peace.
