I’m looking for side work, and I’m open to a variety of opportunities in the Chicago area. I’m a retired soldier with experience in engineering, construction, electrical, mechanical, and programming. I’ve studied computer science, coding, and automation. I’ve worked on numerous construction projects to various degrees. I have hands-on experience with a wide range of equipment and tools. I have operated machinery and heavy equipment. I’ve driven tracked vehicles, tractor-trailers, and 5th wheels. Performed maintenance and troubleshooting. There isn’t much I haven’t tried, but even if there is, I am always open to learning something new.
I’m hands-on, quick to learn, hardworking, and resourceful. I value fair compensation and use my time well. I do my best work when I’m engaged in meaningful, productive tasks rather than waiting around for work to appear. I am not interested in sketchy jobs, illegal work, or any MLM scheme. If it sounds like a scam when you say it out loud, don't bother reaching out. I am not interested in new-age ideas. This is a simple request for normal work, i.e., pulling wire, building a deck, welding metal, machining parts, helping me with my small biz webpage and advertising, doing some admin work, delivering equipment, and more- just no funny business or recruiters.
If you have a project or opportunity that might be a good fit, I’d be glad to hear from you.
Thank you,
Matthew Malone
