All-Purpose Pro Services is hiring part time, on call service techs and apprentice service techs across Metro Detroit. We do repair and maintenance work for rental homes, and our work orders from property management companies keep growing, so hours will grow too. This is a W2 job with taxes withheld. You are paid commission on the labor and trip fees from the jobs you complete, starting at 25% for a Service Tech and 20% for an Apprentice, who always works alongside a Lead Service Tech and never solo, with experienced and lead positions at 30% and 40%. For example, when labor is billed at $95 an hour, a Service Tech earns about $23.75 for every billed hour, an Experienced Service Tech about $28.50 and a Lead about $38. Michigan minimum wage is guaranteed for every hour you work, overtime is paid, and commission on completed jobs is paid every other Friday through payroll, even before the customer pays. You can also earn a $10 quality bonus on each job with at least $150 of your labor that is signed off with no callback, plus extra bonuses when you hit 10 and 25 of those jobs in a month. Promotion to the next level comes after the set number of completed and approved jobs at your current level (100, 150, 250, 350) plus passing an owner inspection. You earn paid sick time under Michigan law and you are covered by our workers' comp.
The work is drywall, paint, carpentry, flooring, fixtures, make readies, turnovers and basic maintenance. No trade license is needed. You need a valid driver's license, your own reliable vehicle, your own personal auto insurance and basic hand tools. Trip fees on farther jobs are part of the labor you earn commission on; there is no separate mileage pay. Everyone passes a criminal background check and driving record check, paid by us, and you get access to our job board once it comes back clear.
