We are seeking a skilled Certified Electrician to support residential solar and energy storage projects in the Des Plaines, IL area. This role will lead electrical installations, troubleshoot and repair existing systems, complete battery installations and main panel upgrades, and ensure all work meets applicable electrical codes and quality standards. The ideal candidate has residential electrical experience, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work effectively with homeowners, inspectors, and field teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the electrical installation and interconnection of residential solar systems with existing utility power.
* Ensure electrical work is completed safely, professionally, and in compliance with current NEC and applicable local codes.
* Install and support residential solar battery and energy storage systems.
* Troubleshoot electrical and system issues and complete necessary repairs.
* Plan and perform Main Panel Upgrades (MPUs) and residential electrical service upgrades.
* Coordinate with homeowners, branch teams, and local inspectors to complete required upgrades, repairs, and inspections.
Required Qualifications
*Previous electrical installation and repair experience required.
*Experience working with electrical systems up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC.
*Residential electrical service and distribution panel replacement experience preferred.
* Must possess a valid Journeyman License, Electrician Certification, Wireman License, or equivalent credential as required by applicable state and local regulations.
* Valid driver's license and clean driving record required; must be able to pass a driving background check.
* Must be at least 21 years of age.
* Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and customer service.
*Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate professionally with customers and inspectors.
Physical Requirements
* Ability to frequently lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs., and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
* Ability to safely work on rooftops, ladders, and elevated surfaces while maintaining balance and using required fall protection and PPE.
* Ability to frequently bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel, crouch, crawl, stand, turn, and reach while performing job duties.
* Ability to work in confined spaces, including attics, basements, and crawl spaces.
* Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
* Ability to distinguish commonly used electrical colors, including red, black, yellow, white, and green.
Additional Information
* Approximately 5% travel is required.
* Primarily residential field work involving solar, battery storage, electrical upgrades, troubleshooting, and repairs.
* Strong emphasis on safety, quality workmanship, and customer satisfaction.

Compensation:
* $66,560.00 - $110,240.00 annually, based on experience
