We have a 2005 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6 with 271,510 miles on the vehicle. We put another engine in it a couple of years ago and it has about 40k miles on it now.
There are many reasons for the low price. It was in an accident in which my son rear ended someone. The results are basically as follows:
* He put a $3,000 bumper on the front to replace the damaged one
* The A/C doesn't work
* The engine runs perfectly, but the dashboard is throwing many codes (mostly various sensors)
* The tires are in good shape
* The transmission has always had the "rumble strip" problem. If you know, you know. If you don't, just Google it. It's not detrimental in anyway and there is a work around that I can show you if you want to come see it.
Selling one of these in really good condition looks like about $6,000 on Kelly Blue Book. However, this one has some issues to get taken care of. He wanted to buy something with better gas mileage and just sell the 4Runner rather than put the same money into getting it back in tip top shape.
The molly panels in the back end and around the center console along with the bumper and tires are worth far more than we are asking for the whole vehicle.
I figure, someone wants all that stuff to upgrade their current 4Runner or maybe they want to smash the best out of each into one really nice 4Runner.... Or, maybe you want something that drives well and needs work. Either way, this may be the 4Runner for you.
I have a clean title.
