Job Description
J&J Telecom & Electric, Inc. is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and experienced Electrical Helper / Apprentice to join our team.
Minimum 2 years of hands-on electrical experience required. Candidates with 3–5 years of experience preferred. This is not an entry-level position.
We are looking for someone who already has practical electrical experience, understands basic electrical installations, and can effectively assist our lead electrician without requiring extensive entry-level training.
Our projects are primarily located in Delray Beach, Boca Raton, and Boynton Beach, with additional work throughout Palm Beach County and occasional projects in Deerfield Beach and Pompano Beach.
Our company performs residential and commercial electrical installations, renovations, service calls, panel upgrades, lighting installations, and troubleshooting.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with residential and commercial electrical installations, renovations, and repairs.
- Run and pull electrical wiring and assist with installing boxes, receptacles, switches, and lighting fixtures.
- Assist with electrical panel installations, circuit installations, and troubleshooting.
- Safely operate electrical hand tools and power tools.
- Follow instructions from the lead electrician and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
- Prepare materials and maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite.
- Perform assigned electrical helper duties under appropriate supervision and in accordance with applicable safety and licensing requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable hands-on electrical experience (3–5 years preferred).
- Previous experience working with electrical contractors on residential or commercial projects.
- Familiarity with electrical wiring, circuits, devices, and basic electrical safety procedures.
- Ability to use common electrical tools safely and effectively.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Reliable transportation and ability to report to work consistently and on time.
- Dependable attendance, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to continue developing electrical skills.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed.
Compensation
$17.00–$25.00 per hour
Starting pay will be determined based on verifiable electrical experience, demonstrated skills, qualifications, and ability to perform assigned duties.
Higher starting rates are reserved for candidates with strong hands-on experience who can perform routine electrical tasks efficiently with minimal direction and appropriate supervision.
